Market information on the adjustment of the capacity offer at Entry VIP TTF-THE-L and Entry Storage Gronau-Epe L2 (Nuon)

Due to the ongoing conversion of the market area (L-gas) and the conversion of the L-gas storage facilities during the year, the German transmission system operators will no longer offer capacity products for the upcoming GWY 2026/2027 and the following years at the Entry VIP TTF-THE-L and the Entry Gronau-Epe L2 (Nuon) in the upcoming annual auction. Furthermore, from April 1, 2027, the TSOs will completely convert their capacity offer at these points from firm to interruptible only bookable short-term.

The background is that upon the recently confirmed conversion of the last L-gas storage facilities, an
additional firmed supply from the VIP is no longer needed to ensure the required L-gas sales demand.
To continue to enable the booking of the required capacity, the original firm capacity will be available
as interruptible capacity. This measure is being carried out in close coordination with the
Bundesnetzagentur and is, among other things, a reaction to the ongoing conversion needs in the
market area, which are limited trough the interruptible capacity offer through conversion and can only
be booked short-term. In addition, the adjustment addresses the anomalies that occurred last summer,
which were reported by THE to the Markttranzparenzstelle and which it has been investigating since
then.

Existing capacity contracts that have already been concluded today for a period beyond April 1, 2027,
will remain valid until the end of their respective runtime.

The aim of the measures described is to offer all market participants reliable and widely usable
solutions in the context of the market area conversion and to make the dismantling of the L-gas market
area as efficient, transparent and non-discriminatory as possible for all parties involved. The German
transmission system operators are working on this together with the Bundesnetzagentur.
