Update: Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work on Roitzheimer Straße in Euskirchen

The transmission system operator Thyssengas has been carrying out pipeline construction work on Roitzheimer Straße in Euskirchen since 31 August 2026. Due to the works, the speed limit in the area of the Erft Bridge has been reduced to 50 km/h over a distance of 200 metres. From Monday 5 October 2026, the road ‘Am Lindenbaum’ and the footpath and cycle path on the bridge will also be completely closed; a diversion is signposted. The closure of the footpath and cycle path, as well as the full closure of the road, is expected to last until the end of October. As things stand, the entire construction project is due to be completed by the end of November.

The works are being carried out to maintain a gas pipeline that crosses the River Erft at this point. The planning and implementation of the works are taking place in close consultation with representatives of the town of Euskirchen, the district of Euskirchen and the relevant authorities.
