Update: Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work in Duisburg-Walsum – half-lane closures on Römerstraße and Teichstraße

On 28 September 2026, the transmission system operator Thyssengas began pipeline construction work on ‘Römerstraße’ in Duisburg-Walsum. Due to changes in the construction schedule, pipeline construction work on ‘Teichstraße’ will not start until Monday, 19 October 2026. This work was originally scheduled to take place in early October. There will be one-way road closures throughout the construction period. The entire construction project will take around four months and, according to current plans, will be completed by the end of January 2027.

Römerstraße
The pipeline construction work on Römerstraße is taking place between Büsackerstraße and Teichstraße. Thyssengas is progressing in two construction phases from Büsackerstraße towards Teichstraße. During the works, the road will be closed on one side in sections. Traffic will be controlled by traffic lights. As part of the works, access to Büsackerstraße will be closed for around four weeks. In addition, pedestrian traffic lights will be installed in place of the pedestrian crossing. The works on Römerstraße are expected to last around ten weeks and, according to current plans, will be completed in early December 2026.

Teichstraße
During the pipe-laying works on Teichstraße, the road will be closed to traffic on one side. The lane heading towards Friedrich-Ebert-Straße will be closed, and a one-way system towards Dittfeldstraße will be introduced. The works on Teichstraße are expected to last around three months and, according to current plans, will be completed by the end of January 2027.

The planning and implementation of the construction works are being carried out in close consultation with representatives of the City of Duisburg and the relevant authorities. Local residents will be informed separately about the works. Thyssengas asks for your understanding regarding the resulting disruption.
