Transmission system operator Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work on Oeventroper Straße in Arnsberg – half of the road will be closed from 27 January 2026.

From Tuesday, 27 January 2026, the transmission system operator Thyssengas will be carrying out pipeline construction work on Oeventroper Straße in Arnsberg. As part of this measure, the southbound lane (towards Freienohl) will be closed for a length of approximately 200 metres (between house numbers 61 and 33). Traffic will be able to continue flowing along the construction site and will be regulated by a mobile traffic light system. Access to the houses in the affected area and to Bachstraße will still be possible. The work will take approximately six weeks in total and, according to the current schedule, will be completed in mid-March 2026.

Overall, the pipeline construction work on Oeventroper Straße will be carried out in several construction phases up to the Ruhr bridge and will continue until summer 2026. Once the pipeline construction work has been completed, the road surface will be restored. All sections and the final restoration of the surface will be communicated in separate press releases.

The planning and implementation of the measure will be carried out in close coordination with representatives of the city of Arnsberg and Straßen.NRW. The measure described is related to the Ruhr Valley pipeline construction project.

About the Ruhrtalleitung project
Due to increased capacity requirements, Thyssengas GmbH has been expanding its gas transport system in the Wickede / Arnsberg / Meschede region – the so-called Ruhrtalleitung – since 2018. The existing pipeline system is being renewed in several construction phases, thereby increasing transport capacity. The Ruhrtalleitung pipeline supplies gas to the downstream networks of local municipal utilities and numerous large consumers such as industrial companies and power plants. The entire project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
