Update 16:00 - The affected gas pipeline section in the gas pressure regulator station in Vorst has now been made gas-free.

According to current estimates, the gas leak was caused by a technical defect within the station. This will be investigated in more detail as part of the repair work. The gas supply in the region can still be ensured via alternative pipeline routes. The repair work has begun and should be completed in a few days.

 

05.02.2024, 14:00: Gas leak at a Thyssengas gas pressure regulating station in Vorst

In the early afternoon, a gas leak occurred at a Thyssengas GmbH gas pressure regulating station in Vorst. The situation in the area of the enclosed site is under control. Experts from the company and members of the fire brigade are on site. Preparations are currently being made to relieve the pressure on the affected gas pipeline. The supply situation for the public has been secured. There is no immediate danger to the public. The cause of the gas leak is currently being investigated.
