Thyssengas carries out pipeline construction work on Morsbacher Straße in Würselen

From Monday, 8 July 2024, the transmission system operator Thyssengas will be carrying out pipeline construction work in Mosbacher Straße. A new connection line will be laid over a total length of approx. 1.7 kilometres. The work will be carried out in 50-120 metre sections after consultation with the public order office. This should ease traffic congestion for the duration of the construction work. Traffic can continue to flow along the construction site and will be regulated by a mobile traffic light system.

Information on the construction process

The new pipeline begins in the area of the existing Thyssengas station on the corner of Morsbacher Straße and Krefelder Straße. It then runs in a northerly direction via Morsbacher Strasse and Bardenberger Strasse until it crosses over into the field area after just under 1.3 kilometres in the road at the level of Burgstrasse. After approx. 300 metres, it joins the Thyssengas pipeline at Stöckergäßchen.

In total, the work will take around a year and should be completed by mid-2025. The planning and realisation of the measure was carried out in close coordination with representatives of the city and the Würselen public order office. Thyssengas apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

Surface restoration

Following the respective construction phases, the surface will initially be provisionally restored. As the final stage of the overall measure, the surface will then be restored over the entire length of the 1.7 kilometres in summer 2025. This construction measure and the associated impact on road traffic will be communicated separately by Thyssengas GmbH in advance.
