Work on the eleventh construction phase
The eleventh construction phase begins at the end of the Ruhr Valley cycle path and follows on from the end of the previous section. The southern carriageway (in the direction of Oeventrop) will be closed for approx. 100 metres for the duration of the project, which will last approx. four weeks. Traffic can continue to flow in one lane and will be regulated by a temporary traffic light system. The "Ruhrbruch" road will remain open to traffic throughout. The final resurfacing of the road will take place once the project has been completed.
Work in the twelfth and final construction phase
Work will then begin immediately on the twelfth and final construction phase. This follows on from Casparistraße at house number 33 and extends over 150 metres from there. Here too, the southern carriageway (in the direction of Oeventrop) will be closed for the duration of the section, which will last approximately six weeks. Traffic will continue to flow in one lane along the roadworks and will be regulated by the traffic lights. The work will be completed before the start of the autumn holidays in mid-October.
Surface reconstruction
The final surface reconstruction will take place in 2025. As soon as the plans are finalised, information on the surface reconstruction will be communicated in a separate announcement.
The planning and implementation of the measures will be carried out in close coordination with the representatives of the city of Arnsberg, the responsible authorities and Straßen.NRW. Thyssengas asks for your understanding for the resulting inconvenience. The measure described is related to the Ruhr Valley pipeline project.
About the Ruhrtal pipeline project
Due to increased capacity requirements, Thyssengas GmbH has been expanding its gas transport system in the Wickede / Arnsberg / Meschede region - the so-called Ruhr Valley pipeline - since 2018. The existing pipeline system is being modernised in several construction phases, increasing transport capacity in the process. The Ruhrtal pipeline will supply the downstream networks of the local municipal utilities as well as numerous large consumers such as industrial companies and power plants with gas. The entire project is scheduled for completion in 2026.
