Flushed-out natural gas pipeline in Warstein: Thyssengas builds temporary pipeline connection in Sundern-Hövel

The transmission system operator Thyssengas is currently carrying out pipeline construction work in Sundern-Hövel. The reason for this is an exposed natural gas pipeline in Warstein (see press release dated 22 November 2024). The aim of the measures in a wooded area to the west of Schloss Melschede is to connect two existing natural gas pipelines running here via a mobile gas pipeline. This is intended to create a temporary "bypass". This will serve to secure the regional gas supply in the event of damage to the exposed pipeline in Warstein.

The pipeline construction work is associated with increased traffic due to assembly and construction vehicles in the affected forest area. In addition, the surrounding forest roads may be temporarily impassable. The work is being carried out in close consultation with the landowner and has been authorised by the relevant authorities.
