Transmission system operator Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work on Robert-Koch-Straße in Alsdorf - full closure of the road from 6 January 2025

From Monday, 6 January 2025, the transmission system operator Thyssengas will be carrying out pipeline construction work in Robert-Koch-Straße and later in Herzogenrather Straße up to the level of house number 102 (sports field) in Alsdorf (Aachen city region). According to current planning, the work will be completed by the end of June 2025. In order to minimise restrictions for local residents, the work will be carried out in sections.

The first section of the measure begins on 6 January 2025 in Robert-Koch-Straße and extends over a length of around 250 metres from house number 94 in the direction of the roundabout. As a result, this section, including the entrance and exit to the roundabout from Carl-von-Ossietzky-Straße, will be fully closed. In total, the work in this construction phase will take around eight weeks and, according to current planning, will be completed by the end of February 2025. Traffic disruptions are to be expected for the duration of the work. Appropriate diversions will be set up and signposted.

The diversions will lead via Konrad-Adenauer-Allee and Übacher Weg. There will be a restricted stopping ban in Konrad-Adenauer-Allee. From the direction of Saarstraße, it is only possible to turn right onto Herzogenrather Straße at the roundabout. From the Herzogenrather Straße / Konrad-Adenauer-Allee roundabout onwards, Herzogenrather Straße is only passable for residents.

The planning and realisation of the measure will be carried out in close coordination with representatives of the city of Alsdorf. Thyssengas asks for your understanding for the resulting inconvenience. Information on the second construction phase is the subject of a separate communication.
