Construction work "In den Höhnen": Transmission system operator Thyssengas carries out follow-up work on the surface

As part of the market area changeover (changeover from L-gas to H-gas), the transmission system operator Thyssengas carried out pipeline construction work in the "In den Höhnen" road last year.

From Wednesday, 5 June 2024, corrections will be made to the surface of the road and in the park. As a result, part of the park at the level of "Gustav-Stresemann-Ring" house numbers 43 - 49 will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists. There will also be restrictions in the street "In den Höhnen". In total, the work will take around one and a half weeks and should be completed by mid-June.

Restrictions in the car park

From Wednesday, 05.06.2024, part of the park at the level of "Gustav-Stresemann-Ring" house numbers 43 - 49 will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists. A diversion will be set up and signposted accordingly. The diversion will begin parallel to the end of the path "Zum Duffesbach" and will divert pedestrians and cyclists via Gustav-Stresemann-Ring. The car park area above the closure along the Duffesbach and the playground there can continue to be used for the entire duration of the works. The car park will be reopened to pedestrians and cyclists once the work has been completed in mid-June.

Restrictions on road traffic

Parallel to the work in the car park, the road surface in the road area will be repaired during the same period (from 5 June 2024 to mid-June). In order to carry out this work, part of the cycle path will be closed and diverted to the carriageway. One carriageway will be closed at a time and traffic will be regulated by a mobile traffic light system. Pedestrians and cyclists will be guided along an alternative route alongside the roadworks. The changed traffic routing will be signposted accordingly.

The planning and realisation of the measure will be carried out in close coordination with the representatives of the city of Hürth and the responsible authorities. Thyssengas asks for your understanding for the resulting inconvenience. The residents affected have been informed separately about the upcoming work.
