Torching and pumping work from 25-27.08.25 in the street "Am Stapperhof" in Aldekerk

The transmission system operator Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work on a natural gas pipeline on behalf of Nordrheinische Erdgastransportgesellschaft (NETG). In connection with this work, it will be necessary to depressurise and degas the pipeline. As Thyssengas has set itself the goal of reducing the methane emissions associated with such measures as far as technically possible, a large proportion of the gas in the pipeline has already been removed via downstream networks.

On Monday, 25 August 2025, and Tuesday, 26 August 2025, the pumping operation will take place in order to feed further residual quantities into the downstream grids. This process may result in noise emissions. On Wednesday, 27 August 2025, the remaining volume will then be evacuated using a mobile flare system. This will result in increased noise emissions and a visible flame on these days. The flare system is located on a fenced-in station site in the street "Am Stapperhof" in Aldekerk.

The planning and realisation of the measure will be carried out in close coordination with representatives of the town of Kerken. The local authorities and neighbouring residents were informed about the project in advance.
