In addition to maintenance work, preparations are also underway in Wallach for the construction of a new pipeline branch. This will ensure the future supply of natural gas to Stadtwerke Wesel-Büderich.
The works also serve as preparation for the conversion of the Xanten-Möllen H2 pipeline, which is set to supply the region with hydrogen in future. The works will take a total of 18–20 weeks. Further works are planned in Rheinberg and Voerde from July 2026. There may be short-term disruption caused by construction vehicles during the works, but road closures will not be necessary.
