Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work on the Rümmecke viaduct in Meschede-Freienohl – one-sided closure of the viaduct necessary

Starting on Monday, 2 March 2026, the transmission system operator Thyssengas will begin pipeline construction work on the Rümmecke viaduct in Meschede-Freienohl, in parallel with other utility companies. The work is related to the renovation of the Rümmecke viaduct announced by Straßen.NRW. During the construction work, the viaduct will be closed on one side. Traffic will be regulated by traffic lights. The work by Thyssengas will take approximately six weeks and, according to current plans, will be completed in mid-April 2026.

The planning and implementation of the measure are being carried out in close consultation with representatives of the city of Meschede and Straßen.NRW. Thyssengas apologises for any inconvenience caused. The measure described is related to the Ruhrtalleitung project.
