Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work on Ringstraße in Arnsberg – half of the road will be closed from 18 May 2026

From Monday 18 May 2026, the transmission system operator Thyssengas will be carrying out pipeline construction work on Ringstraße (near number 17). The works will result in a half-width closure of the road over a length of approximately 50 metres. Traffic will be able to continue flowing past the construction site and will be regulated by a mobile traffic light system. Residents will be able to access their homes throughout the duration of the works. In total, the works will last approximately five weeks and, according to current plans, will be completed by the end of June 2026.

The planning and implementation of the project are being carried out in close consultation with representatives of the City of Arnsberg. The project described is part of the Ruhrtalleitung project.

About the Ruhrtalleitung project

Due to increased capacity requirements, Thyssengas GmbH has been expanding its gas transmission system in the Wickede / Arnsberg / Meschede region – the so-called Ruhrtalleitung – since 2018. The existing pipeline system is being renewed in several construction phases, thereby increasing transport capacity. The Ruhrtalleitung supplies gas to the downstream networks of local municipal utilities as well as numerous large-scale consumers such as industrial plants and power stations. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for 2027
