Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work on Oeventroper Straße in Arnsberg – full closure from 27 July 2026

From Monday 27 July 2026, the transmission system operator Thyssengas will be carrying out pipeline construction work on Oeventroper Straße in Arnsberg. The works will result in a full closure of the section between Widayweg and the junction with Am Bahnhof, covering a distance of approximately 70 metres. Residents and emergency vehicles will still be able to access properties in the affected area throughout the duration of the works. Diversion routes will be put in place and signposted. In total, the works and the full closure will last five weeks and will be completed by the end of August 2026.

The planning and implementation of this work are being carried out in close consultation with representatives of the City of Arnsberg and Straßen.NRW. Thyssengas asks for your understanding regarding any inconvenience caused. The work described is part of the Ruhrtalleitung construction project.

About the Ruhrtalleitung project
Due to increased capacity requirements, Thyssengas GmbH has been expanding its gas transmission system in the Wickede / Arnsberg / Meschede region – known as the Ruhrtal pipeline – since 2018. The existing pipeline system is being upgraded in several construction phases, thereby increasing its transport capacity. The Ruhrtal pipeline supplies gas to the downstream networks of local municipal utilities as well as numerous large-scale customers such as industrial plants and power stations. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for 2027.
