Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work on Mörmterer Straße in Xanten – in preparation for the Uedemerbruch–Xanten hydrogen pipeline

The transmission system operator Thyssengas will be carrying out pipeline construction work on Mörmterer Straße in Xanten from 2 November 2026. A speed limit of 50 km/h has been introduced for the duration of the works in the section between ‘Am Bruckend’ and Hürdemannshof, and is signposted accordingly. The works will last approximately seven weeks and are expected to be completed by the end of December.

The work is connected with the future hydrogen pipeline between Uedemerbruch and Xanten. Next year, the existing pipeline in this area will undergo a technical inspection. To this end, a so-called pig must be run through the pipeline. During the work, a loop will be created to allow the pig to change direction.

The planning and implementation of this project are being carried out in close consultation with representatives of the town of Xanten and the relevant authorities. Thyssengas asks for your understanding regarding any inconvenience caused.
