Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work in Duisburg-Walsum – Prinz-Eugen-Straße will be fully closed from 31 August 2026 and one side of Aldenrader Straße will be closed from 7 September 2026

Since mid-March, the transmission system operator Thyssengas has been carrying out pipeline construction work in Duisburg-Walsum. From Monday, 31 August 2026, Prinz-Eugen-Straße will be completely closed to traffic. A half-lane closure will be in place on Aldenrader Straße from Monday, 7 September 2026. The works are expected to last four weeks and, according to current plans, are due to be completed by the end of September 2026.

Prinz-Eugen-Straße
As part of the utility pipe works, Prinz-Eugen-Straße will be completely closed for three weeks from 31 August 2026 between Ziethenstraße and Aldenrader Straße. In addition, from 7 September 2026 to 14 September 2026, one side of the road will be closed up to house number 13; traffic will be controlled by a mobile traffic light system. From 14 September 2026 to 18 September 2026, Prinz-Eugen-Straße will be fully closed between Aldenrader Straße and Zechenstraße.

Aldenrader Straße
As part of the construction work, Aldenrader Straße will be closed on one side for a length of approximately 60 metres from 7 September 2026 to 14 September 2026, starting from the junction with Prinz-Eugen-Straße. Traffic will be controlled by a mobile traffic light system. From 14 September 2026 to 18 September 2026, the same section of Aldenrader Straße will be completely closed.

Residents will be informed separately about the construction work. The construction work on Prinz-Eugen-Straße will thus be completed; the work on Aldenrader Straße is expected to be finished by the end of December 2026.

The planning and implementation of the works are being carried out in close consultation with representatives of the City of Duisburg and the relevant authorities. Thyssengas asks for your understanding regarding the resulting disruption.
