Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work in Bochum-Wiemelhausen – Markstraße will be closed to traffic on one side

Since mid-November, the transmission system operator Thyssengas has been carrying out work on its pipeline network in Bochum-Wiemelhausen. As part of this pipeline construction work, a partial closure of Markstraße, approximately 20 metres in length, will be in place from Monday 30 March 2026, near the DHL parcel centre. Traffic will be able to continue flowing past the construction site and will be regulated by a mobile traffic light system. Parking spaces along a 50-metre stretch will be limited during the works. The construction works are expected to last around one month and, according to current plans, should be completed by the end of April.

The planning and implementation of the project are being carried out in close consultation with representatives of the City of Bochum and the relevant authorities. Thyssengas apologises for any inconvenience caused.
