Thyssengas invites the public to six public consultation events regarding the planned Emsbüren-Dorsten hydrogen pipeline

The transmission system operator Thyssengas is hosting public consultation events in May and June along the planned route of the Emsbüren-Dorsten hydrogen pipeline. These evening events offer anyone interested the opportunity to find out about the current planning for the project.

“It is important to us that local residents are not only kept informed, but can also discuss their questions directly with the relevant experts,” says project manager Hubert Jesolowitz. At the consultation events, experts will be available at various information stands for one-to-one discussions, explaining the current state of planning and answering any questions.

The dialogue events will take place from 6 pm to 9 pm on the following dates:

6 May in Coesfeld: Bürgerhalle Coesfeld – Osterwicker Straße 1, 48653
7 May in Reken: Village Community Centre – Kirchstraße 14, 48734
20 May in Dorsten: Treffpunkt Altstadt – Geschwister Scholl Platz 1, 46282
28 May in Heek: Heek Town Hall – Bahnhofstr. 60, 48619
9 June in Emsbüren: Landgasthof Evering – Lange Straße 24, 48488
10 June in Ochtrup: Althoff's Landhotel – Metelener Damm 14, 48607

About the project
The approximately 100-kilometre-long hydrogen pipeline between Emsbüren in Lower Saxony and Dorsten in North Rhine-Westphalia forms part of the north-south corridor of Germany’s national hydrogen core network. This corridor is intended to import hydrogen from the North Sea coast and the Netherlands and transport it on to industry, small and medium-sized enterprises and local authorities in the Ruhr region. The spatial impact assessment for the section in North Rhine-Westphalia was completed in February this year. This provides a spatially compatible route corridor as the basis for further planning. Thyssengas is currently working on the detailed planning of the specific pipeline route within this corridor and is preparing the application documents for the planning approval procedure.
