Gas transmission system operator Thyssengas is carrying out pipeline construction work near the Marienbrücke in Arnsberg – the cycle path and footpath will be completely closed from 28 April 2026

From Tuesday 28 April 2026, the transmission system operator Thyssengas will be carrying out pipeline construction work near the Marienbrücke bridge in Arnsberg. As a result, the cycle path and footpath leading down from the bridge and running parallel to Jahnstraße will be closed for approximately six weeks. Cyclists and pedestrians will be diverted. The diversions will be clearly signposted. The playground on Jahnstraße and the houses on Jahnstraße will remain accessible throughout the duration of the works. According to current plans, the works are due to be completed in early June 2026 .

The planning and implementation of the project are being carried out in close consultation with representatives of the City of Arnsberg. The project described is linked to further work being carried out by Stadtwerke Arnsberg and Westnetz, and is necessary due to the City of Arnsberg’s planned renovation of the Marienbrücke.
