The trainee programme – an investment in your future, and ours.
Because of demographic forces alone, we are looking to offer plenty of development opportunities to young employees in the next few years. That is why we will support your entry into a career with us with targeted development measures during an 18-month trainee programme.
The spectrum encompasses jobs in the technical and commercial fields.
So that we can support trainees in a targeted way, we determine needs in each of the fields each year. From this we derive the number of trainee positions that we will advertise for the following year. At thyssengas.com, you can find more information and the latest postings.
Essentially, we are looking for graduates from various disciplines, such as mechanical engineering, electrical technology, process technology, energy technology, measurement technology and business administration. You should have completed your studies with at least a 2:2. You will go through various positions within our company to an individual plan. This will determine which areas you get to know more closely, how long you stay there and which projects you work on – all of it tailored to you personally.

Engaged specialists accompany you and ensure, among other things, that your social entry into the new environment goes to plan easily and quickly. Here it is certainly advantageous that our company of around 400 employees is easy to get to grips with. It's great when you can work on the level with professionals from various specialist departments and deepen the knowledge gained during study. A personal mentor will support you during the 18-month programme. You will learn the gas business in all its technical and commercial aspects, in an individual and tailor-made trainee programme. You will go through the programme together with other trainees. It is accompanied by side events
These include:
- Seminar curriculum of five logically connected modules
- Mini-placements where you learn the other departments for two weeks at a time
- Information days on subjects like: human resources, law, regulations, communications, works council, company development
- Excursions to: other locations, the compressor stations, a gas storage facility
- Networking events such as: the first day at Thyssengas, the trainee “Stammtisch”, works meetings, after-work events, and of course our summer and Christmas parties
In addition, together with other trainees in your year, you will take part in a social project as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.

This is what you should bring:
- A university qualification of at least 2:2 (“gut” in the German system)
- Initial job experience from internships, apprenticeships or working student placements
- Interest in the energy sector and current topics such as “power to gas”
