There is only one first step.
With an apprenticeship at Thyssengas, your career will be off to a good start.
Thyssengas – progress for the energy sector of tomorrow.
Thyssengas GmbH is an independent company that operates a gas transmission network responsible principally for the transportation of natural gas, but also of biogas. Our customers are energy suppliers from home and abroad who want to supply German customers with natural gas.
These include, for example, industrial operations, power plants and also municipal utilities. The latter receive gas from our network and pipe it over their own distribution networks to cover the last few kilometres to private users in their own homes.
We are the carrier, transporting the gas over long distances. Every year, we transmit up to 10 billion cubic metres of gas over our 4,200-kilometre-long underground network to its destination, safely and in an environmentally friendly manner. In this way we ensure that the important energy source, gas, is available around the clock. Without this complex but extremely reliable system, energy supply to North Rhine-Westphalia would be impossible.
In short: At Thyssengas, you will work together with around 400 specialists every day to ensure security of supply for our country.
So that this remains secure in the future, and that the transition towards a climate-friendly energy sector succeeds, we are working on concrete and innovative concepts. Perhaps you have already heard of power-to-gas technology. With this, our network will become a giant store for energy derived from the sun and the wind. At the same time, we are planning pilot projects to allow a change to take place from natural gas, a fossil fuel, to the hydrogen-based world of tomorrow. In this way, we will become the backbone of the energy revolution. For all this, we need young, motivated people like you. Take a look at our exciting range of apprenticeships and become part of our team!

Training takes place largely at our main administrative headquarters in Dortmund.
Additionally, you will take block teaching at the Konrad-Klepping-Berufskolleg (vocational school).
